During this 7 days 6 nights Loire tour for wines and castles, we walk you through the region from Nantes to Sancerre, via the beautiful villages of Saumur, Angers, Chinon, Vouvray… and other smaller but cute towns!

1st day: Chambord & Cheverny

Departure at 9am to visit the Chateau de Chambord. At 11.30am, wine tasting at the Cheverny House of Wines. At 12.30pm, lunch at a nearby restaurant where you will enjoy a 3-course meal and a glass of wine. 2pm, visit of a chocolate factory, where you will discover the whole process from cocoa growing to chocolate transformation, before tasting samples from around the world! 3pm, visit of the Chateau de Cheverny, its 150000 tulips and its kennel of 140 hunting dogs.

At 4.30pm, visit of a winery in Cheverny, where you can better understand the wine growing techniques, the wine making process, and the choices of the winemaker to produce his wine. Tasting of 7 wines (3 whites, 1 rose, 3 reds) of the appellation Cheverny, with a detailed analysis of each wine in the proper tasting evaluation technique. Dinner at 8pm at a top-notch city-center restaurant in Blois, then back to our B&B in Blois for the night.

2nd day: Touraine – Amboise

9.30am: Visit of the Chateau de Blois and its 4 architectural styles, nicknamed the “Royal birthplace” for its numerous births of future kings and queens of France. Visit of the Blois cathedral, then tasting of local products in the city center. Lunch in a nearby restaurant with local wines (Coteaux du Vendomois, Touraine-Chenonceaux), then in the afternoon: visit of the Château d’Amboise or Clos Lucé, as desired. Tasting and visit to a cellar in Vouvray, at a renowned producer. Dinner in Blois near the accommodation in a Michelin-starred restaurant, and overnight in our guest rooms in Blois.

3rd day: Touraine

10am: stroll to the castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire and its international garden festival. Lunch in a “troglodyte” cave with wine tasting. 2 p.m .: Visit of the Château de Chenonceau, nicknamed “the Ladies’ Château” because of the strong feminine influence in the elegance of this mythical place. Visit to a local goat farm and tasting of cheeses paired with regional wines. Return to Blois around 6 p.m., dinner in a renowned restaurant, and overnight stay in the guest rooms in Blois.

4th day: Chinon

9am departure for Villandry, visit of the mythical castle and its gardens on 4 levels of sumptuous terraces. 11am: Lunch in Chinon with tasting of wines from the appellation. Afternoon visit to the castle of Azay-le-Rideau. Return to Blois around 6 p.m. and dinner in a Michelin-starred restaurant before returning to the accommodation.

5th day: the Eastern Loire

Visit of vineyards in the east of the Loire: the 3 magical cities of Sancerre, Ménetou-Salon and Pouilly-sur-Loire (AOP Pouilly-Fumé!). Picnic lunch in the vineyards in Sancerre, visit to a winery whose vines date back over 600 years (the famous Château de Tracy), then return to Blois at 6 p.m. Dinner in a brasserie on the banks of the Loire, and overnight at the accommodation in Blois.

6th day: Anjou

Departure for Saumur and its castle, tasting in a renowned vineyard of the Saumur-Champigny appellation. Lunch in Angers then visit of the castle of Angers. Free time from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., then dinner in Angers and overnight at a 4* hotel in Angers.

7th day: the country of Nantes

Discovery of the vineyards of the Nantes region, tasting of Muscadet. Discovery of Clisson and its castle. Lunch in Nantes and visit to the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. End of visits at 4.30 p.m. and return to Blois for arrival at 7.30 p.m.

Transport is included from the first day at 9 a.m. until the last day at 6 p.m. As a result, the guide even drops you off at dinner and picks you up when you are done, to drive you back to your accommodation.

During this 7 days 6 nights tour, accommodation takes place in our guest rooms in Blois for the first 5 nights, and in a hotel in Angers the last night. Therefore. we minimize accommodation changes for the comfort of our guests.
